Our monkeytail stays offer our most traditional style, taking inspiration from original 18th-century design.
This solid, unlacquered brass finish From The Anvil is classic and simplistic. It offers excellent possibilities for stately and period dwellings, particularly where a traditional look is desired. When fully polished, this finish has a depth of reflection. However, as the product is unlacquered, this can also be left to age naturally, creating a beautifully historic finish over time.
As our brass is unlacquered, it will naturally age through oxidisation, giving the product added character. However, if desired, you can maintain this finish to a bright 'polished' finish with periodic polishing. To achieve this, please use a dry cloth or our 'Brasso' (73102) to assist with cleaning solid brass products. Regular oiling of all moving parts using our '3-in-1 Oil' (92337) benefits your products' longevity. This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. You can also use an oily cloth to wipe over the product occasionally to protect against exterior or environmental elements.
